We are not all in the same boat; we are all in the same storm.
If you follow news about Indonesia, then you probably stumble upon one of the most embarrassing story ever “Indonesia! Terserah,” which means “Indonesia! Whatever!”. Terserah is a phrase literally means it’s up to. However, in this context, it means like do whatever you want to do. It goes to the citizens of Indonesia who, even though there are regulations from the government about large-scale social distancing and stays at home advise, but they likely ignore everything and just do whatever they want, like going around and going work unprotective. It made people who obey the rules by staying at home felt disappointed. While many people are trying hard to suppress infected numbers by staying at home, many people also have taken this case so lightly.
I have another thought about it that I’m still thinking either to share it or not. However, I tried to look at this matter from different perspectives. It’s not because our government rules aren’t strict enough for them or also not because our people are stubborn.
It’s because we are not all in the same boat; we are all in the same storm.
We can’t be angry with those who still have to leave the house to work because of life’s necessities. We also can’t be jealous of those who can stay at home comfortable because everyone’s struggle in the Covid-19 period is not the same.
Some people got a fortune to stay at home without worrying about what to eat. While some have less and shuffling with difficulties to survive if only stay at home.
All we can do is taking care of ourselves as best as we could. Follow the guideline of hygiene and healthy life by wearing a mask, taking vitamins, always wash your hands, and keep a perfect distance from the others. Don’t judge each other. We should realize that we are in the same storm, but not in the same boat.
Let each boat find a way out of this storm. Pray and hope for the best for every ship, without judging one another. Stay strong in faith and immunity. This too shall pass, but make sure the Lord is in your boat and has control of your ship.
interesting!!
