Homework from experiences

Today I read a couple of stories that had the same things mentioned in, experiences, and so on, yes, the stories told about how they faced their evil or even worst experiences.

Then I remembered one time in my life when I had quite an unusual situation with someone who I called my partner in crime (hey dude, I hope you are fine there, long time no see). After we talked about one of my experiences, then we went to such a conversation.

Me: I guess it is right; the experience is the best teacher ever.

Partner in crime: indeed, mainly because it never gives us homework.

Me: sure, but it always gives us two options, to be exact, two options. The first option is realizing, and the second option is regretting.

Partner in crime: what does it mean?

Me: there are only realizing and regretting. Realize is before “something” happened, you know it already so it won’t happen. However, regret is after it happens. There is no regret, in the beginning, that’s why it’s called realize. Do you understand what I’m trying to say?

Partner in crime: yes, then that’s the homework.

Me: ah yeah (then we were just silent and thought of ourself)

The Musings

Reminiscing that conversation, made me think for almost an hour, do I ever face those situations, either it is realizing or regret? Which one is better?

Sometimes when it comes to something terrible, it would be better to realize it of course first, then you won’t regret in the end, but when it comes to pursuing our dream, we often know we had to do something about it but when we tried, and we fail then we regret why we did it. But it didn’t do it, we would regret it as well. So the question is, can both of them walk along?
