Everything possible if there is a will even for a day in Zurich
“Nothing!” That was my friend telling me when I asked her, “Is there anything we can see in one-day trip in Zurich?”
I never expected that answer though. Since I was hoping that she would encourage me with a lot of recommended places in one of the beautiful cities in Switzerland.
I was still wondering what would I do for a day in Zurich. Was there really nothing I could do there? The answer from my friend definitely killed me to even open google and search about the city. So the main reason why I came to Zurich was because I already bought a ticket from Milan to Zurich and of course I felt it would waste if I did not use it.
I left Milan early morning to catch the first bus to Zurich. Using the fastest route a friend taught me the day before, I departed from Rovereto Station to Lampugnano Station. I took the Rho Fieramilano and it passed 17 stations straight to Lampugnano Station. It took around 27 minutes.
That time, I wanted to try the day bus in Europe. I was using Flixbus, which was (is) easy to book and buy. Flixbus had its own app you could easily download in iOS and Google play. You still could use the GoEuro app too. It attached the pdf ticket through the app, which obviously you could just show it to the driver before boarding the bus.
On the way to Zurich
It took 3 hours and 15 minutes by bus. The good things about taking a bus in the day time was I could enjoy the scenery along the way through the bus windows. And Zurich has the scenery I would remember as one of the beauties I have ever seen.
Strolling around Zurich
I arrived in Zurich around midday. The first thing need to do was to look for a locker to keep my heavy backpack so I could stroll around Zurich easily. As I get off in Zurich HB, which had many services for tourisms, that also provided many lockers inside the station. I also bought one day ticket that I could use for all transportation while in the city.
Zurich has many places to visit for only a day visit, but one day was also not bad to chill around it. I captured a lot of photos, but let me just share it some of them here.
Surprisingly, there was a stall in town selling Marroni or we probably know it as chestnuts. I never expected to find something like this in Swiss though. A bag of it was enough to fill my stomach until I reached a place to eat.
The time pointed 08.30 PM. I rushed myself back to Zurich HB to retrieve my backpack and headed straight to the Sihlquai car park. It was located next to the central station to board the bus to Paris .
There are still a lot of things I missed because of lack of time. Let’s just assume that it is a sign that I need to go back to Zurich.
